She looks like Big Bird.
That's pretty much what I've seen in other reviews. Honestly, 7/10 to me is a fail when you're looking at the pedigree of where the series came from. I look at T1 as a 10/10 and T2 almost completely matching it.
I really doubt this is going to kickstart a series when it's getting buried online. At least it wasn't the SJW nightmare we all thought it was. I think I'd give it a chance they didn't replace John. They didn't necessarily need Furlong.
I ultimately think it was worth it to set up Linda Hamilton's role and performance. He may be gone, but his spectre looms over the entire film. There's a great scene after Sarah has to be talked down from blasting "Carl" with a shotgun where she admits to Dani she never took any photos of John for fear they could be used to identify him in the future, and now she's starting to forget his face...
Replacing John Connor is my biggest gripe with the film, besides the moar wamen aspect. Which, kind of goes hand in hand. I also firmly dislike the “Apple store doucheness” of the Terminator.
Anyway, I only met Arnold very briefly a long time ago, back when he was touring the Planet Hollywood locations (which are all closed now?), and like an idiot didn’t bring anything for him to sign. I got to say hello and that was pretty much it. That same year I bumped into the goofy guy from the Earnest films at a restaurant. We left him alone though. I did get his autograph at a convention years later.
That's pretty messed up, and that at least makes sense. I just feel removing him out of the plot is a huge mistake, especially as we've never seen him in the future. Bale doesn't count. I think something could of been worked out where he could of been alive and worked with a new resistance leader and IDK, be the new Reese in this weird timeline. Speaking of which, Reese is like ten years old at this point in time.
There's a lot of potential for a good sequel, I think. This film hints at some interesting new ideas, but mostly focuses on the present and protecting the new girl from the Rev-9. They will absolutely need to do better on the future scenes if that happens, though. That and send Natalia Reyes to the James Cameron Female Bodybuilding, Advanced Tactical Firearms and Lockpicking bootcamp Hamilton went through for T2.
That's another thing, she's built like a child. There's no way anyone is buying her as the leader of mankind that converted everyone to her cause.
They did Genishyt, and since that bombed I guess they didn't want to bother.
wat about arnold as a husband father? cringey or not?
Spoiler-free:
The Good -
Most of the film
Linda Hamilton
Arnold
Mackenzie Davis
The Rev-9
Blessedly free of politics and SJWisms despite what greasy click-baiting concern-trolling shitheels like Mr H would have you believe
The Bad -
Any future war sequences past the opening one on the beach
The Indifferent -
Natalia Reyes, she's not great but not terrible either (except in one scene)
7/10 film, would be 8/10 if the future war sequences were either better or removed entirely.
