I used to dislike Marvel Legends. Most of the toybiz figures were horrible. Even back then. I had my little Avengers set and the small handful of X-men figures. I thought they were mostly cheap garbage. A lot of them looked like cheap garbage.
Then, Hasblow came in and tried their hand at the license and they were even worse. I only ever got their Emma Frost and I still regret it to this day.
It wasn’t until they started really trying to knock out the X-men figures that my interest returned and I was still hesitant. The Apocalypse wave pulled me in pretty hard though. Had to start playing catch-up afterwards.
I’ve spent a lot of money of this cheap shit now and I have more Marvel Legends than I ever honestly though I would. I have nearly 70 MCU legends, close to 50 comic legends (from around when Hasbro actually got decent at the line). Compare that to barely two dozen of the Toybiz figures and it speaks volumes.
I’m more surprised at how many MCU legends I have, when I thought they used to be some of the worst looking toys out there, just barely above Hasbro’s early offerings. That changed over the last year or so. The jump in quality and tech has really helped them put out decent looking representations of these characters on the shelf.
And yes, Nightcrawler barely gets any love. I think he might have the least amount of figures out of the entire X-Men, not counting obscure characters.
