Watching the original Death Wish (never saw it) I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone draw the comparisons of that to this. At least, from what I've seen.
Haven’t seen it for 20+ years...I can’t think of any similarities other then the old school grit and grim
The whole vigilante becoming a local legend angle feels very similar.
I guess....I’ll have to rewatch it I used to like Bronson films as a kid. On an unrelated note was the death wish remake any good?
Oh I never saw it, but I assume it's shit. And I gotta get to bed and only got twenty minutes left so it'll need to wait to tomorrow, I can definitely say no recent remake is going to be able to touch the atmosphere of scary 70s and 80s NYC.
I plan on watching all five in a row. I still need to see the last Dirty Harry, I never saw that one for some reason.
Magnum Force and Sudden Impact are my favorites.

I watched this yesterday. It was good. I’m not sure I’d watch it more than a couple of times, but it was certainly interesting.

Just watched tonight, what a hell of a ride. It was like watching "One who flew over the cuckoos nest" outside of the insane asylum.
Knowing it's a standalone, I wish there was a sequel to potray this Joker vs Batman.
Yeah I liked it a lot, but I dunno if it's something I'd constantly rewatch. I hardly sit down for a film anymore anyway, even classics.
It is too intense to watch multiple times I think, I've seen it only once and I don't feel the need to watch it again. Masterpiece
For what the goal of the film was to be, it certainly was. Which is why it doesn't need a sequel and then mutate into the crap everything else is.
