I'm glad Sony didn't cave in and cancel this from the vocal minority backlash, but on the other hand I wish this was never going to be a thing. I think it'll have more soul than other late nostalgia cash-in sequels, like Dark Fate, etc. Reitman seems very passionate.

I don't like the "kid ghostbusters" angle, and personally I'm sick to death of Finn Wolfhard, but I hope this will be okay. I don't think it'll be "great". Ghostbusters 2016 lowered any of my expectations for future Ghostbusters-related media henceforth.

And ffs, let Ernie Hudson come back. He's super passionate about the franchise (even though he's almost been cut out of anything Ghostbusters after the first movie) and he's the only one of the remaining cast that's aged well.

I am so hoping for this to be a decent sequel. This is at least doing what the 2016 movie should have done and that is be a direct sequel and not a reboot. And Ernie Hudson is in this according to IMDB.

Not sure how I feel about it at the moment. At least the trailer respects what came before. My only worry is the kid actors - not because they won't do a good job, just feel like it's the current 'trend' to do.

Hopefully Paul Rudd done the Ghostbusters outfit towards the end of the film.

Kid actors are the kiss of death for generally everything and that one twerp is already overexposed.

As for Rudd.

The kids will probably bug me because they usually do, but I like the direction they're going. We're not going to get a movie with the original guys again. If the chemistry and writing are there, then it'll be like Ghostbusters meets Stranger Things--which isn't a bad thing.

i'm as anti-kid as it gets... but there are SOOOOO many greats out there and kids are the focal point.
some really good ones just off the top of my head: home alone, 6th sense, goonies, stand by me, stranger things, kick ass, E.T., the professional, IT...

hopefully this works in the end.

It's funny how the older movies with kids generally don't bother me. It's probably a combination of being a kid at the time and better writing back then than what we get now. Every now and then though something pops up, like Stranger Things, where I don't mind the kids at all. Then you have movies like The Predator where it's a shit movie and the kid is thrown in just to piss me off even further.
