Films such as Dredd, BR: 2049, Drive for example definitely appear in my top movie list.

I could be forgetting a few, but Dredd might be the only action film I even liked in the last ten years.

*Watches trailer* Sees the black fade to white "Next Summer". Okay yeah... this trailer was copy paste The Force Awakens shot for shot. Like I was half expecting with the music to have Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd come in at the end with, "Ray, we're home..." < Least that would have been comedy gold to give some light to this trailer.

There's so much going for this movie it DOESN'T FEEL Ghostbusters in the trailer at all. No upbeat, no humor, Ghostbusters was in fact a Comedy Sci-fi 80's hit. THIS is too much Mike from Stranger Things, being Stranger Things with Abrams Super 8 and Paul Rudd being his Ant-Man dumbfounded "what's this do!?" push a button self.

And again... hey let's go find the mysterious cave with ghosts and make kids center field. $5 says original cast come in last minute with some cheesy one line of, "You kids need some help?". This movie direction is bad because again, we're not focusing on the love for old characters we're being thrown completely new ones AGAIN.

It is so hard for the original cast just to be retiring there thinking shit is fine and then original cast think something is up with the town, THEN throw the kids in there to help the original cast. WHY on earth do the Original Cast NEED to be supporting actors... because that's what they'll be...

There's plenty of movies that have kids but give deeper meaning to cast IE:

If the studio was smart they would have made this movie have original cast living in small suburban town with Egon's Granddaughter who discovers the town is being haunted. There's TOO MANY KIDS in this. One kid should have been focus with Original Cast.

To be honest I'd be content for them to start over (hate to use the word reboot). As much as the actors made the original, for me I think it's the 4 core characters too. Being a fan of the cartoon too it needs Egon, Ray, Peter and Winston.

I feel like it's too late to salvage the brand. GBII isn't the monstrosity people make it out to be and this already looks like it divorced itself from it.

The in universe GB company should of held strong instead of vanish and hired on new people while the old cast were more less their bosses. I think that would of made everyone happy. You got the original characters in there while having your actors do the ghostbusting.

But no.

Paul Rudd and cancerous children.

This'll take the helm from Terminator from shitty reboot after reboot.

Sad that there's never been a reboot of the cartoon. I think that's a good indicator of how the brand sits in the market. Look at TMNT, they reboot the cartoon every few years - each generation of children get turtles and they buy the toys.
