I mean, that’s what the DamToys figures were priced at. Which they should’ve been no more than $260 or $270 with how much generic reuse and tweaks of military parts they had for all the Claire and Leon figures.

And I firmly stand behind accessory packs. Sell your figures for $250 with some of their key accessories that most people would want and then you can include the extras in a pack. If people want it, they will buy it. Asmus did that with their Dante. And what’s great about that Dante pack was that it came with a new headsculpt, so that was icing on the cake.

It’s something you don’t have to have. So, when money is tight, you just get the standard release and then opt for accessory packs for figures you just really have to get everything for. The typewriter would’ve been a good one to seclude to such a thing. Is it a cool accessory? Yes. Do most fans want it? Probably. Should it have been included with Ada just to bump her up another ten or so dollars? No.

Also kind of disgusted with the greed on GameToys’ part. Cloud was initially released for what… $165? Or $180? And this bitch came with swappable arms, dude. But then Sephiroth was over $200? And Tifa is over $300. There really should have been an option to not include the bar. I’ll never use it.

In fact, I’m probably going to sell it to recoup finances. I’ll be thinning a lot of unnecessary bs from some figures and my collection in general, next summer. Hopefully, the economy will improve by then and there will actually be people spending money again.

I mean yeah the price point is relatively the same. But I kinda came to the realization like two years ago I should only buy what I absolutely feel invested in.

Resident Evil 1/6 is that. I have zero FF stuff.

Can anyone fucking explain to me why Jill Valentine is the new Jill in Death Island, but everyone else is based on the older character models? Is there a logical answer to this bullshit?

Wasn't the reason Jill looked so young because the virus slowed down her aging that much? That doesn't explain the model discrepancy however. They could have just made something based on original RE3 Jill but imo it's laziness. And cash ins.

Capcom is lazy and loves reusing assets. And then they invent the retarded "she ages slow" bullshit. All the models in that moofie were reused the ones before it.

No, that isn’t what I’m talking about. Leon is based off the RE4 and 6 Leon. Chris, for all intents and purposes, is supposed to be an aged RE5 Chris. Rebecca is clearly based on REmake Rebecca, if only a little recognizable at this point. Claire is based off of all the most recent iterations of her from animated films and Revelations 2.

So, then why in the fuck is Jill the only one changed? Why are they using the likeness of the model and the voice of the VO actress for that particular version of Jill? Why is it not the Julia Voth Jill with the voice actress from REmake or someone similar?

In other words, she doesn’t fit into this continuity. RE7/8 Chris isn’t in this. REmake4 Leon isn’t in this. REmake2 Claire isn’t in this. It’s just strange as fuck to randomly shove REmake3 Jill in this crap. It’s like Capcom had a falling out with Julia Voth and they can’t or won’t use that version of her anymore. Which is total bullshit, because she’s been Jill for literal decades.

If you’re going to change one of them—might as well go all way. It’s just idiotic and makes an already joke of a film even worse.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm thinking too. I feel like the only reason is because Jill hasn't done much in the franchise since RE5, and she wasn't even playable outside of DLC and mercenaries....so maybe it's cause no one would recognize her if she had a design based off the original continuity? In Capcom's mind. These characters have so dramatically changed in terms of looks that sometimes I need to see a name instead of just knowing. But it's still incredibly stupid and way too jarring. I also forgot Chris is not based off RE7/8, making this scenario dumber.

On Julia Voth though, I'm actually wondering IF Capcom broke off ties with her? She hasn't made any reference to Jill, not even any of her many pics cosplaying Jill. But past REmake, Jill's look slowly veered away from Voth's likeness for...some reason. Who knows?

Also I'm seriously wondering...just how much of a benefit it is that Jill was infected by the T-Virus in RE3 now because at this point it literally just helps her.

Funny how she’s always been the fan favorite female that’s been unchallenged for 30 years and they forgot about her for like a decade.

I like the new look for Jill. I don’t have a problem with her in general. I didn’t like the outfit change in RE3 obviously. In the new cgi film, it would’ve made sense though. And it would have been a different outfit too, instead of being regurgitated.

My problem is that they threw her in the film and then just said “okay, good enough, we’re done here.” Just like they do with everything else concerning this franchise as of late.

I don’t imagine there’s much more interesting me outside of the Obi-Wan Figure and Aerith. Maybe a Big Chap? But I will just get a 1/6 statue most likely. Don’t see anyone doing that figure again. I will also have to get some figures repaired, like Star Lord and The Crow. Fucking stupid ass pleather.

There really isn’t one. The S32A and S33B are the closest for now, but Ada is using a more proportionate body than what TBLeague normally does.
