Right?

I started Sideshow with their original Jedi Luke, which was like $65 if I'm not mistaken. I did collect Hasbro's 1/6 before then, but I don't like to think of those dark days. Now look at the prices.

Of course, the quality of figures today is light years beyond those early "high-end" figures, but the cost still hurts.

Now they're charging more and including less accessories. You're lucky to get more than a few pairs of hands, a weapon, and a base now.

Yeah, they’re having to offer the deluxe editions (the true versions) as an incentive to get people to spend a little more.

On the one hand, it’s keeping cost down... I guess? But it’s also a double-edged sword. I feel like it’s partly helping to raise market prices even higher—because, assuming most of these sell out fairly well, other companies see this and start creeping up their prices accordingly.

It’s a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation. The hobby is eventually going to crash anyway. The AAA games industry is first though.

That’s true—especially when I used to have long, luxurious hair.

Is it me or does this even look like the one in the trailer? Doesn't look as bulky or something.

Probably just another version. In order to sell more toys you gotta have more suits in the movie.

Looks cool, but I have a couple of the old ones and they’re just fine by me. The next WM I’m getting will be the Punisher one.

IM2 one was the best.
Civil War one was kinda cool.

The rest are boring trash, this one included.

What is this? it looks just like the War Machine suit we didn't get to even see in IM3. It's barely any different.

We already have peak WM with the CW version and the Infinity War version. The one from Endgame should be a bit more extreme if they want to make something interesting.

Not a big enough difference to justify the purchase.

I feel sorry for ocd completionists that have to get all the MCU Hot Toys figures. They’re literally doing every version of every character now.

I wonder how many people stopped being completionists because of this. I'm glad I never cared about it, I only get the few I like. The only Infinity War figure I'm getting is Bucky and I'm perfectly happy with that.

I started out collecting all the Iron Man figures but quit when I realized how many they were making. I sold quite a few and kept enough to fill the Hall of Armor with the ones I liked.

The ones in the hall of fame are really the most iconic ones imo, the rest are not that great. I say this but I still like the 42 and 46. Those are my favorites, I might get them down the line but right now I'm just waiting for this to end. I'm not very eager to spend over 300 for something I just like a little bit.

Yeah, the prices have just gotten too crazy to keep buying every armor that comes out—especially the die cast ones. I have to love the figure now. The days of impulse buying these things are long gone.

The most iconic suits are the ones from the earlier films... excluding Iron Man 3.
