So this is the only game I've seen in recent memory that consistently looks better with every new clip put out.

The combat is going to make me lose my shit. I hope to god it’s fun, but challenging without being over-encumbering like Nioh was. I had fun with that game, but the combat was pretty convoluted and frustrating to learn.

Ninja Gaiden is old as dirt and still takes a massive shit on most other games. This may surpass it.

This game might save SONY's ass from TLOU2 debacle.

It's the only exclusive since TLOU that seems worthwhile.

My only issue is some of the hud stuff. Like the animation effect of hitting someone with an arrow takes me out of it. Same with throwing distractions and there's a sound wave effect. The sword combat while simplistic, being timing heavy seems to be very rewarding. The sword animations look authentic. The map seems a good size. The studio has a good track record.

No social bullshit injected, just escapist entertainment. I hope if it's good that it becomes a new franchise. I'd love for them to include Miyamoto Musashi in it but they said the Japanese weren't keen on historical figures. He was a real life God of War. Sixty known duels and never lost. He even took on a school by himself. He had them by surprise, but the fact he took on multiple Samurai at once and killed most of them is nuts.

Gamestop doesn't charge until a PO ships, right? The CE seems snazzy.

I got the digital deluxe. I read mixed reviews but it’s because it doesn’t have the agenda bullshit that’s so hot right now.

From what I’ve read, the game is perfect. It’s set in a time when none of that agenda shit should even be a thing. It’s completely irrelevant.

Played almost three hours, I like it a lot. The combat while simplistic is punishing if you aren’t being serious with counters.

I think I'm eight hours in and having a blast. The world isn't a GTA world and it's very cookie cutter of what has been done previously, but that's not to say it's boring by any stretch. The visuals holy fuck, it's gotta be the best looking game ever on a console. Every second of gameplay could pass for a promotional image it's that good.

It didn't occur to me for hours that you can draw the sword normally with the touch pad and you can sheath it the same way. And if you just killed someone and there's blood on it, Jin does a chiburi and cleans the blade before sheathing. I've probably only explored maybe 20% of the map during this time and I just had a REALLY long side mission that was multiple parts.

Finally Sony did something right again.

I don’t know how many times I died. The parrying is very unforgiving as I often miss the timing of it and you die very quickly. Unless it’s a tank class Mongol, enemies die in maybe three hits. If you perfect parry you instakill and I’ve seen videos where there’s dismemberment but haven’t done it myself. Such as decapitations.

I’d definitely want a Jin figure. I already have a stable of Samurais.
