Failed both days to get the Captive Splinter set. The checkout button froze immediately after going to cart. Pretty sure the same thing is going to happen again tomorrow. I got lucky on the last day last year, by a damn hair, I’m sure.

Going to have to pay scalper prices this time though, or wait until they eventually (if at all?) announce the Gamestop versions. I hate these collectibles. I hate the way Neca does this. And I just hate Neca for being a bunch of hacks. If they truly wanted collectors to have these, instead of forcing us to play this stupid ass game, they’d work out a deal with playmates and maybe mark up the sets ever so slightly and have them at retail up front.

Desktop isn’t working on the Neca site. I used my phone and it worked well. Try that tomorrow

I only use my phone. It’s not going to work period. Neca doesn’t know what they’re doing and they don’t care. The scalpers are feeding them and they’re feeding the scalpers.

Another fail. Neca really is a trash toy company. I have never hated a company more for their tactics than I have this one. They make it so goddamn difficult to obtain something that we should just be able to go online at our leisure and order. Instead, we have to fight thousands and thousands of people and scalpers within a thirty second window.

I got lucky on day three last year, because we didn’t have this checkout button issue. I had my card information saved and was ready to get one of these. But Neca’s website is ass. So, now it’s either wait for these to hit Gamestop (which they might not, in all honesty, because they aren’t the Turtles themselves this time around) or pay double the price right now—triple the price by the time these fucking things are actually in the hands of eBay scalpers.

The amount of SDCC 2019 Turtle sets on eBay right now is repulsive. Complete and utterly disgusting greed. People have gone and taken two sets for themselves to sell and in some cases gotten family or friends to help get them extras. I wouldn’t put it past many collectors using the extra set as a means of essentially getting their personal one for free.

I really wish Neca had learned from last year and limited this strictly to one set, period. The checkout button issue this year made it even worse, which no one thought was even possible, as much of a shitshow as it was last time.

Playmates just needs to tell them enough is enough and save us all the trouble of worrying about owning these. I couldn’t imagine wanting to own the Hot Toys Keaton Batman and Nicholson Joker and having to have gone through THIS MUCH TROUBLE just to have something that meant that much to me, as a child, on my shelf.

If anyone here got an extra Captive Splinter set, or is planning a trip to SDCC, I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to buy it from you. I don’t want to pay eBay prices, but I understand you’d want some extra cash. I tried getting the set, all three days, but failed due to the checkout button being stuck...

Same here. I think I’d have gotten one on day three again this year if it wasn’t for the check out button having technical difficulties. What’s funny is Neca has been (or was anyway) denying there was any kind of issue with it.

If I’d gotten tickets this year I’d have helped you guys out. As it is, I’m hoping there aren’t any exclusives I have to have from this SDCC since I’ll have to desperately try to get them the normal way. I really hate the exclusive process most companies use for these big conventions. It seems like 90% of the figures end up on eBay from asshole scalpers.

That’s because it’s pretty close to that. How many honest collectors get these at retail price? How many people get these that will almost never sell them? Period?

There’s gotta be bots buying these turtle sets, I can’t understand how they sell out in seconds while I can’t even get the checkout stupid button to work. I’m just keeping my fingers crossed for GameStop releases (even if they scam me and charge me shipping for each figure individually)

There’s no doubt that some people are using programs, but a lot of it is just the sheer amount of people vying for these sets. I think people underestimate just how many fans are out there, who are crazy about a lot of the older Turtle stuff.

The new garbage continues to clog pegs, but when you put Comic Turtles, Jim Henson Turtles or Classic Cartoon Turtles on stores shelves... it’s a wasteland. Most stores can’t keep up with the demand, even when it’s $52.99 for a box sex of two figures.

Honestly, if the check out button thing wasn’t an issue this year, a lot more people would have gotten these that WOULD have gotten them otherwise.

I’ll say it again, if you can’t supply enough of these for the demand, then you don’t need to even bother, because all you are doing is making OTHER people wealthy. When people are taking your product and immediately hitting 200% profit, before you’ve even started full production... you have a fucking problem son.

As long as Gamestop stays in business, I’m sure they’ll get these 7 inch figures in single packs. I heard they’re getting more of the Turtles in stock this fall. I’ll probably preorder at least 6 Foot Soldiers from my local GameStop so I can set up a couple of good fight scenes. I’m betting we’ll be getting Undercover Raph and Casey Jones too.

I’m done with their TMNT stuff after this set, assuming I can ever actually obtain the damn things. I don’t even want to bother with the cartoon Splinter anymore and we know it’s coming, without question.

It’s too much trouble to collect these. The only other figures that I’ve truly struggled to find a way to get my hands on have been the Max Factory Karas and the Ronin Warriors stuff released some years back. I couldn’t find any of it at or near the msrp and then they all skyrocketed past triple the price. Hell, I think the Karas figure went up to $800 within two years of being released. I don’t own any of them. They’re the only grails I have left.

Maul I’ve kicked myself for missing that karas figure also! The 1/6 is less expensive....as for Neca and tmnt they should not make it 2 per customer...they know that everyone who buys 2 is flipping the second set

I had a chance to pre-order it, but I was in school and didn’t have much expendable income at the time. I have the 1/6 figure, but I’ve always wanted the Max Factory Karas. I held out hope there would be a reissue, but it’s never happening.

And yes, we all bitched at Neca last year when it was two per customer and people were defending it saying that they wanted to keep one boxed up and the other for display. Gee, I wonder why? Obviously it can’t be proven, but I’d bet my ass that not even 25% of the people spouting that nonsense kept the other set.

About the NECA Cartoon Turtles: I went ahead and picked up a couple of Raphael two packs and a Michelangelo two pack to build a troop of Foot Soldiers. I only want the Foot, so I’m selling two Raphs and a Mikey, each at cost plus shipping, if anyone here is interested. Not looking to make a profit. The Turtles will be new in box. Let me know.
