Debating on getting the “tree monkey.” I got Shenron for quite a good deal. I’m not certain this one will be as readily available long enough to actually go on sale though.
I’ll probably get Porunga. He really doesn’t have a lot of figures. Neither do Saiyan Saga Goku and Vegeta though.

I got my second saiyan raised on earth so I can use the Captain Ginyu head.

I’ve been getting two of every Goku figure since the Saiyan Raised On Earth figure. I have doubles of most figures now, that have multiple appearances right out of the box.
I skipped out on having two of the SSG Goku. The SSJ3 Goku would have to be reissued for me to justify getting a second one. Majin Vegeta as well. When it’s all said and done, I’ll have multiple figures of most characters in their various outfits.

I’m still waiting on the Gotenks heads to come out.
I think they showed that last year. They have a ton of renders of shit they never produced.

Yeah, they’re eventually going to go out of business. Tamashii has the talent and backing to pump out products. At this point, I’d almost say they’re using Demoniacal Fit as a proxy to gauge interest in specific characters and character designs.

We have many of the same doubles. I wanted to get an extra Super Buu, but now he costs an arm and a leg.
How many do you have overall? I tend to think I have one of the largest collections out there with maybe 5-10 people with more.

I have around 65 last time I counted. I don’t have many of the figures before the Awakening Goku was released. Just Piccolo.

The face looks off and there’s something about the upper torso that doesn’t look right either. I think it’s the neck? He just looks so damn weird in most of those shots.
I think I’m just gonna wait for Tamashii to finally give us a 2.0 Ultimate Gohan. I’m not really even sure I need another one in all honesty, but I’ll get one if it’s done right.

All this time you’d think they would if reworked it. It’s better than the original but that isn’t difficult to beat.

To be honest, I actually really like the original Ultimate Gohan. It’s one of the few of the original figures (excluding the villains—as they are all still fairly relevant in engineering design) which I still think holds its own. I think the face needs a little bit of a tweak and it needs the SSG Goku body for the 2.0 release.
The hair mold Demoniacal Fit used for this seems really meh. The faces are even worse. They either look too comical or too villainesque at times.
The only figure I feel is close to being a perfect release was the Kaioken Goku and I ultimately decided against getting that as well, because I thought Tamashii could do it better. I was right. The reason I went ahead with the DF Vegito is due to how disappointing it was when Tamashii unveiled the rehashed SSJB Vegito as one of the 2018 con exclusives.
That said, I managed to eventually get that stupid figure for a decent price (same with the Broly from the same event), but I think the DF one is far superior. At least from a forward facing perspective. Turning the sculpt, the face looks far too narrow—like it’s been squished inward.
There’s always a significant downside to the DF figures. They still have a long way to go, if they want match Tamashii’s level of engineering and design. Tamashii isn’t perfect though. These are the same people who teased the Ultra Instinct Goku with a repainted Saiyan Raised On Earth hairsculpt.
Frankly, I would hold out. I’m not saying DF isn’t good at times. I have some of their kits and it definitely improves some of the standard Tamashii releases, but this one seems like an easy pass. Tamashii can and will do it better. I wouldn’t tell everyone to stop buying their stuff though, because then the company would fold and Tamashii would lose the pretty evident drive they’ve been given, due to the “competition.”

By the way, I found one of the last places that has Buu for anywhere close to retail. Everywhere else he’s $100 and up. At least he’s only marked up by $10, before the $6 flat rate shipping.

Speaking of which, if Tamashii does continue on with the Buu saga after they finish the Namekian Dragon Ball set, I’d really like to see them revisit Majin Vegeta and give us the PROPER damn faceplates this time. We also need an updated SSJ3 Goku with reduced hair weight. The bootlegs are so bad that they are NOT an option.
