I'm glad the wait for the final release is over, but the wait to actually have this figure in hand started and it's not easy... but oh well, the more pictures I see the more I like her with the outfit on. And yes the body sculpt is beautiful but this look is her main look in my mind.

Getting this as a gift, damn, and I wanted that Kansas Bar pint since forever.

Funny to see people playing dress up with her already, I don't care for the rooted hair but it's darker and that adds to the look, it's more accurate like that. I might paint he hair on mine to make it look closer to this

They should never have strayed from rooted hair. There’s an overly vocal minority of collectors that spews disdain for it online, making it appear as if people don’t want rooted hair. That’s just not the case.

Frankly, if the hairstyle hangs below the ear... it better be rooted. Get this plastic nonsense out of here. The new Wonder Woman looks like a joke with that static hair. I’m thinking of getting the Golden Armor headsculpt to update my original figure.

Rooted hair only looks good if done by a custom expert, like Jacob Rahmier. Hot Toys only uses that garbage, shiny Barbie hair. Makes any figure look like a cheap Mattel or Hasbro figure.

What is simply not the case is thinking that rooted hair can look good if it comes from Hot Toys, it hardly ever does. I'd say Scarlet Witch is the only exception, more or less, because mine turned out good and it looks better than most of the other ones I've seen.

And when I say it looks good it's only because it didn't suffer from the Barbie frizzy-poofy shit that usually happens to rooted hair. On mine its closer to the head and falls more naturally but even then it's not that great.

It's obvious that with those moving eyes Alita needed sculpted hair. Her hair would look like a mess after changing her eye position a couple of times, there is no way around it.

Rooted hair can be a hit or miss. When it isn’t done correctly, sometimes it just needs to be styled. I’d still take that over static sculpts any day. Unless it’s done very poorly, like the recent 2.0 Selene. That one actually made the sculpted hair figure look better.

That really turned out great. Very MGR looking. Speaking of which I still need to get around to fixed his busted elbow.
That reminds me I want to get the exclusive Raiden or at least the exclusive red katana for her.

It looks way better than her own sword
