Just wait until you get to his boss fight and see how embarrassingly hammy he is. I honestly feel most of the actors in this are awful as well, that feel very hollow and sterile. Even Reedus. He strangely feels distant and disconnected from every character. He at least speaks unlike Kiefer Snake. Del Toro is a low rent Otacon. Heartman is kind interesting but some hairdos these characters have are ridiculous, especially in the middle of an apocalypse.

The thing I feared the most has happened. One you finish the second region, the game speeds up to the end with not much gameplay and mostly cutscenes. I'm not done yet, but it will certainly be finished this afternoon.

I also wanted to mention the best actors in the game are Die-Hardman (awful name) and Mads. They're the only two that actually feel like real people and natural, especially Mads... and he hardly even talks.

Honestly I would preferred if he made a new spiritual successor to PT instead of this. I can’t bring myself to buy this game. And I love story driven games but I also like to have fun and this seems to lack that.

Just finished it. The entire final act fell apart. It’s so heavy handed with trying to make you feel something but I didn’t. The needless recap of every flashback sequence but in real time added nothing whatsoever since we knew this information already. He needs a better co-writer than Murata.

The middle act was strong with the gameplay but it’s bookended with such nonsense. Multiple false endings and credit sequences. Stop with that shit already. I suspected it wouldn’t stick the landing for me and it didn’t disappoint. I knew as I finished the second region it would just sprint to the finish with mostly cutscenes and dull as hell boss fights.

I’d give it maybe a 7/10.

GOTY? It doesn’t deserve to be in the conversation.

It was an exhausting experiment with LOTS of gameplay hours just to say "we need to connect and rely on each other", like 100's of hours in gameplay as an isolated character to tells us we need to connect, kinda defeats the point doesn't it?

I'm glad I didn't play it myself, last game I spent like 200+ hours on was MGSV, don't regret it but I don't know, not rushing to do it again for such thin plot with not that great gameplay.

I guess I'll skip and better save up for that Alyx thang.

I might finish up the unfinished tasks but it’s not something I’d return to. MGSV at least had a degree of replay value and the online base building was interesting but weighed down by ludicrous development times. I never understood why MGSV is praised for gameplay when all the features of MGS3-4 were gutted out and the open world experience played like a PS2 off brand military simulator. It may as well have been just a wireframe grid with nothing on it.

This ain’t going to be no classic and while it doesn’t deserve the zeroes it’s getting, it certainly deserves a lot of bad reviews.

I’d love to know the budget. I keep hearing rumors it was a few hundred million but nothing to corroborate it. Sony’s response to this will be very telling. They signed this guy immediately after he was fired and gave him a blank check and he made them a blank game.

The rockstar developer craze needs to die. When I really think about it, the biggest thing Kojima ever did in his career was become the biggest name in gaming purely because he smeared his name on everything. People immediately assumed that he was significant. The guy just cannot write anything. Blaustein and Kaku had him pegged twenty years ago.

If Koji pro breaks up, I hope Yoji gets scooped up by somebody else. He’s wasting his talents with such schlock.

That girlfriend review is cancer. I turned it off when she started saying how the game is art, which it's not. Art house visuals and worthless ramblings don't make anything deep.

The other dude sums the game up perfectly. There's not plot for the middle 40 hours of the game.
